It was two years ago when Osasuna were playing against Sevilla F.C. to obtain a place in UEFA Cup history. It was the second match of the semifinals and they were playing in Sanchez Pizjuan.
The first game was in Pamplona on 25 April 2007 and the score was 1-0 for Osasuna. It was an important but short result to face the power of the rivals.
Previously, Osasuna defeated good historic European teams like Girondis from Bourdeux, Rangers from Glasgow and Bayer from Leverkusen.
Besides Osasuna had left behind teams like Trabzonspor from Instambul to classify or Lens, Parma, Heerenveen and Odense in the group league.
Osasuna lost their chance in Pamplona when they played a really good match. The Sevillian team didn't miss their opportunity in their stadium and scored two goals ( Luis Fabiano -m.37, and Renato -m.52 ).
Sevilla F.C. won the UEFA Cup against another Spanish football team: Espanyol F.C.
Now Osasuna have to struggle to keep in the First Division against Recreativo, as it's been for almost of their history, but it is good to believe in past-future dreams which depend on present games. ¡AUPA OSASUNA!
