An email from my holiday resort

This is an example for your writing in 3º ESO to talk about your last holiday and write an email to a friend or a relative ( a person from your family- parents, brothers, etc. )

Hi, Iban

I'm writing this email from a cottage in Aguilar de Campoo, Palencia with our friends Carlos and Beñat. We've come here to meet after two years we couldn't have seen each other before. You're the only one we miss.

The weather is really cold this weekend but I really like we've met again. People here are like the weather, cold. We've gone out to visit the village, but it's really cold to walk around, so we've visited some sightseeings like the cathedral and the monastery of Santa Ana. But we couldn't visit the monastery of Santa Maria La Real, a good example of the Cister architecture.

In the last few hours we have been to a local tavern to have a hot drink. I've drunk a hot chocolate milkshake and our friends two hot coffee with milk. In that time we've been talking about our lives in our cities, our jobs, families and other interesting topics, as usual.

So far we've really enjoyed the food and we haven't had any bad experiences. We've brought some potatoes, onions and eggs to cook a good Spannish omelette at home and we've also bought some drinks and a local cake for dessert.

Today we're visiting a coal mine as this region is full of mines and people used to work there, but now because of the crisis there are a lot of unemployed men and they must look for other kind of jobs and resources.

Tomorrow we're going to finish our stay here, but first we're visiting the monastery of Santa Maria I told you before and we're having lunch in a nearby village restaurant before we go back home. There we're having typical food like Cocido Montañés ( cottage stew ) or garbanzos con almejas ( chickpeas with clums ); for second course local meat : lechazo entreasado ( young semi-roast lamb ); and cakes for dessert.

I hope you're well, Iban and you'll join us next time. Write soon.

Iñaki
