Athletic-Osasuna, a derby before a worldwide "clasico"
Good afternoon, dear Osasunists!Osasuna and Athletic play this evening at San Mamés stadium one of the tensest derbies in the last seasons due to some previous interviews ( overall Muniain's ) and the well-known politics of the club from Bilbao.
However, both team have more important reasons to do their best in the pitch as they need to fix their position in the actual competition. Athletic must go on their success at home and make their supporters forget last defeat in Madrid.
Perhaps, apart from being a derby and the interest the match arises itself, Osasunists would like to see the first victory away at a hostile stadium like San Mames. A difficult victory that our team didn't get since last March 31st and the team have only got a point in the first 11 games this season.
During the week, the team from Pamplona have been training without the scorer Pandiani, but it seems that the Uruguayan forward will be part of the kickoff team Camacho will use this afternoon, as Aranda is injured and "our loved" coach doesn't like players like Sola, Calleja o Lolo ( who recommended them, then????? ). At least, Monreal is back too and perhaps Lekic has already improved his selfconfidence and may be that scorer some say.
As we said, there are permanent topics that come out when these teams confront, like the number of Navarrians who play in both teams. There is a newspaper from Madrid, a fascist one, which is proud to show every white team match against Athletic the heading of "once españoles" against xxxx, etc. The reality is that the only actual Navarrians who already played in Osasuna or were in their orbit are Orbaiz and Javier Martinez. But another truth is that some players, like Muniain, should be more careful with their words.
I know he is a future star in La Liga, it is clear that he played very well in some games, but it is a fact that he has not achieved anything yet. He is an outlander and showoff person ( I got a comment from an ex-student, an Athletic fan, who lives in Txantrea, and was an Iker's friend. I say "was" because Muniain consider his childhood friends of "a low category he already achieved" and he "no longer waste his time with so pitiful people" ) who does not know how to behave in front of a microphone.
Due to my personal relations I usually travel to Bilbao and have many friend there, apart from my girlfriend, and they usually talk volumes about the politics of their club. Some say that they would like to have a team only full of Bizkaian people (a quimera ) and some other show off as Muniain does, but in the end the reality is that Lezama doesn't work as they expected, and they finally buy players from many places of "Euskal Herria" and friend clubs like Txantrea ( the original club of Muniain ), Pamplona C.D. and other in Navarra.
All in all, we'll see what happens this evening in Bilbao. Caparros's kickoff team may be: Iraizoz ( Navarrian ); Iraola ( Gipuzkoan ), Aurtenetxe ( Bizkaian ), Amorebieta ( Venezuelan ) and San José ( Navarrian ); Gurpegui ( Navarrian ), Javi Martínez ( Navarrian ), Susaeta ( Gipuzkoan ) and Muniain ( Navarrian ) ; Llorente ( Navarrian ) and Toquero ( Alavan ).
GORA OSASUNA!AUPA ROJILLOS!
