Mallorca - Osasuna: the D day for our team
Good morning, dear Osasunists!
Carnivals are here and people usually dress up and go to fancy dress parties in Navarra, and everywhere.
This afternoon Osasuna plays against Real Mallorca and due to their similar outfit in red, they must dress up in grey, but I hope they will dress up as a fanstastic team that plays a good football in the pitch.
Osasuna and Mallorca got a draw in the first round at El Sadar and we keep on saying that the goalaverage with relegation teams will be important at the end of the season. For the time being, Osasuna has a disadvantage with Depor and Celta as they won their home games, but Osasuna lost their average in goals.
At this moment, Osasuna is in a better position than Mallorca in the classification now, but it can change if the final whistle ends with a defeat for Osasuna.
The owners of RCD Mallorca fired their previous coach, Caparros ( a coach who always liked in Osasuna though he trained in Sevilla ), and signed a well-known coach for everyone there, though with controversial for their supporters: Gregorio Manzano. He already got criticism on their first training day.
The Reds have obtained 7 out 12 points and it is a good mark as they had their confrontations against Real Madrid and Barça. On the other hand, Mallorca started the season in August with 8 points out of 12 and they were at Champions posts for several weeks, and from that time up to now they didn't get many points.
We know that there is a saying in football when a club has a new coach that makes a sure winner match for them, but I hope we get good news on this Carnival Saturday from Mallorca.
Mallorca: Aouate, Nunes, Geromel, Hutton, Luna, Pina, Tissone, Nsue, Giovani Dos Santos, Víctor Casadesús and Hemed.
Osasuna: Andrés Fernández, M. Flaño, Arribas, Nano, Damiá, Oier, Lolo, Armenteros, Nino, A. Cejudo and Kike Sola.
Gora Osasuna!Aupa Rojillos!

Mallorca-Osasuna, the ensaimada game
Good afternoon, dear Osasunists! Today the match of our team is on Saturday afternoon, almost at a siesta time or the time to play cards with friends and have a patxaran! But, maybe as the coach Mendilibar says Osasuna players will come back to Pamplona defeated and with the famous Ensaimada cakes in their luggage.
To start with, Mallorca, the city and the club, dream of being in the situation Osasuna is. At the beginning of this season, Mallorca C.D. prepared a team to get UEFA positions and to avoid any problem to stay in La Liga de las Estrellas, but in the middle of the season they fired their former coach and hired the famous Andalusian coach Joaquin Caparros.
If we talk about figures, they are on the side of Mallorca. Osasuna have only won once this season, and the last two games at Sant Moix stadium the result was the same ( 2-0 ) for home players. There are also two records to beat for the Balearian team: to score the goal 700 as a First Division team and another personal for Caparros, to achieve his 150 victory as a coach in La Liga.
Both teams have improved lately. Mallorca won home against Vilarreal ( 4-0 ) and they are strong at their stadium, but they don't have a strong team, a normal kickoff team for every game. On the other hand, Osasuna, though their great position in La Liga, have only won in Barcelona against Espanyol, but they assume that if Osasuna win in Mallorca, they will go on the top of the classification and make sure to keep in First Division for next season, so they can have further objectives.
There are also lots of absences in this game due to injures or red cards. Tomás Pina can't play for Mallorca, therefore Tissone and Martí will lead their team. On their side, Osasuna lost for the rest of the season to one of his new strikers: Lekic, and Ibrahima for two weeks because of injures. Our captain, Patxi Puñal was expelled against Granada last weekend, and must miss his fifth match in his career for that reason.
Anyway, as Osasuna's coach said: "We never cry out for our absent". There are other good players to face with the rival and get a broader differnce with Mallorca. Osasuna is 7th in La Liga with six points ahead Mallorca and 10 points from the first team in relegation posts. Let's increase those figures this afternoon, rojillos!!!

C.A. Osasuna-R.C.D. Mallorca, a game of urgencies

Good afternoon, dear Osasunists,
Congratulations to everyone! As you see I've broken one of my rules in my blog and I started this article with the echoes of last game at El Reyno de Navarra stadium. The victory against Real Madrid has been a media success for everyone in the club and some of the problems in Osasuna may have been relegated for a worse period this season.
OK!Let's continue this wave. I'm very excited of the victory against Real Madrid, one of my most hated teams in the world, if not the only one, but I have to agree with Camacho, the coach I don't trust on much, that the result from last week won't be worthy if Osasuna don't win this afternoon match!
Another game on Saturday, an early Saturday which may provoke that the supporters from the countryside may not go to the stadium, but the good weather, the excitement of the victory against Real Madrid, and the rival can make us forget the cons.
If Sporting could defeat Mallorca in their stadium, Osasuna, with their moral in their highest level in this moment of the season, is able to increase the gap from the teams at the bottom of the classification.
What do Osasuna need? They have to repeat the good strategies which helped to knock down the powerful Real Madrid: joined lines in the field and that courage and intensity Osasuna players lacked of in the last games before the visit of the white team.
I hope that Pandiani and the rest of the forwards in Osasuna will recover their abilities in front of the goal and they score again. Maybe the "fight" between the "showoff", arrogant Ronaldo and "the rifle" will motivate Osasuna forward against the "bermellones" ( strong red ) from Mallorca.
Another motivation to watch the match is to see the evolution of the new players in Osasuna: Leko, Lolo, etc have another opportunity to make us forget the leaving of Juanfran, his spirit was back at the Reyno de Navarra, but we also need to find a replacement for his spirit!Could it be Camuñas?
Good luck, Osasuna! Aupa Rojillos! Gora Osasuna!

Mallorca-Osasuna, a strange time to play

Hi, dear supporters! Here we are at a strange weekend of football as Osasuna is playing on a Saturday afternoon, the same as the Premier League in England.
Osasuna plays away against R.C.D. Mallorca at Iberostar Stadium and none of them have won this season yet, and they haven't scored a goal either!!! Both have added a point out of nine this Liga, so their situation is not as happy as their supporters expected, sure!!
By the way, I was about to die after listening to Camacho's words at the press conference when he refered to Osasuna situation as not worrying and "si huebieramos ganado al Madrid, estaaríamos en posiciones Champion" ( to win Real Madrid, Champions,...was Camacho at the bench at Santiago Bernabeu last weekend???? )
Mallorca y Osasuna, a por la primera victoria - osasuna - Diario de Navarra
Michael Laudrup, Mallorca's coach, cannot use his goalkeeper Dudú Aouate, who is going to celebrate the hebrew festival of "Yom Kipur", the Portuguese Nunes, amonested either, and Ayozé Díaz, injured. Enrique Corrales, ex-Osasuna player, is not sure to be on the field at six to play against his former team.
Osasuna is going to play his second consecutive away game after losing against Real Madrid (1-0). Josetxo and Sergio won't be in the kickoff team this time, but Asier Riesgo is back.
What is really motivating for all supporters is to see a real champion on the field, as the World Tennis Champion Rafael Nadal is going to give the honor kickoff of the match. Congratulations!!!
Mallorca: Lux; Cendrós, Ramis, Rubén, Corrales o Kevin; Nsue, Martí, De Guzmán, Castro; Víctor y Cavenaghi.
Osasuna: Ricardo; Nelson, Lolo, Miguel Flaño, Monreal; Juanfran, Puñal, Vadocz, Masoud; Pandiani y Lekic.
Referee: Ayza Gámez.
Stadium: Iberostar.
Gora Osasuna! Aupa Rojillos!

Mallorca-Osasuna, another match on Monday

Good evening, dear Osasuna supporters! Here we are again!
We start a new week and Osasunists feel different from other football supporters as we didn't get the satisfaction??? of a weekend of passion and suffering from our loved team.
We've been waiting on the sofa or coach as in the drawing above! This cartoon represents our lack of motivation in the last games after the results of Osasuna against their rivals. It's a brilliant cartoon drawing, as always, from the great cartoon maker: Cesar Oroz, who I have the honour to know from his schooltime, as my brother and he studied at the same classroom and they are still friends, so I consider myself!
This evening we're visiting a difficult stadium: Saint Moix in Mallorca. During this season Mallorca have been the surprising team of the League and they are still in those positions that let play the Champions the following season. ( Do you remember that year in 2005 of the Copa del Rey final and the 4th position in League???? )
The Ono stadium is a very good fortress for Mallorca and they have won 13 matches out of 15 in this season. They are the third best home team in the League after Real Madrid and Barça. Therefore, as it is usually said: "cristal clear, this is Imposible Mission, not even for Tom Cruise's famous actions and if Osasuna gets a draw, it will be a brilliant victory for our players!
There are two ex-Osasuna players in Mallorca: Quique Corrales and Pierre Webo. The Kamerunian player is very desired and remembered in Pamplona. He's scored six goals this season, but he hasn't played many complete games with Manzano. Now he seems to have recovered his post in the kickoff team.
Finally, I'm going to comment the problems Osasuna and other people have had this week to travel. As you may know the only way to reach Mallorca is by sea or air, and the news about the Norwegian volcano eruption has caused many problems in the flight traffic all over Europe. Even yesterday in the morning Osasuna was in talks with the FEF ( Spanish Football Federation ) in the case the game couldn't be played as Osasuna was unable to travel and get Mallorca. In the end, the airport at Noain opened and they took a charter flight to Mallorca at 8.30 in the evening and could spend the night in a hotel ( luckier than Barça, who had to travel by bus to Milan as Barcelona airport and Italian airports are closed ).
Let's see if this fact is a good start for tonight game. Aupa Rojillos! Gora Osasuna!
Kickoff teams:
Mallorca: Aouate; Josemi, Nunes, Rubén, Ayoze; Mattioni, Martí, Borja Valero,Varela; Webó and Aduriz.
