Arrival and first day at Broadstairs

Hi everyone! Our trip started on the 16th at Salesianos school and we said goodbye to our families with the expectations of a good British experience. We left to Bilbao with two fantastic drivers, Maite Pierola and Nacho Pache. We arrived at BIlbao at the scheduled time even when a student had to change her luggage because the wheels broke When we arrived at Stansted airport, it took us a long time to find the bus drivers and in the way to Broadstairs some students were as eager to reach our destination as a baby : "Iñaki, how far is Broadstair? Is that far? And so on for 40 miles. Host families took our students in their cars from a huge shopping centre park and Jorge and I were the last to go. Each family had different dinner food for us but mainly salads or light sandwiches. The first day in Broadstairs was to settle down and after the placement test in the morning,we had lunch at the Pavillion, by the sea. We got vouchers for four pounds each and most of them were satisfied. Mikel and Iker are sometimes hungry, but it is normal for them. There are seagulls everywhere and one of them was about to grasp Jorge's food, bur we were fast enough to avoid it. In the afternoon we had an Observation quiz. It is like a gymkana about the town, and the two main prizes were for Salesianos groups with the top scores ever at KSE history (39 correct answers out 40 ). In the evening we had karaoke and there Ainara was the best. She caught the audience when she sang, with the group choir of Salesianos, the song "I will always love you" of Whitney Houston. We were singing with another group from Soria and we finished with La macarena. Today is the first lessons day. Groups are divided and see if their level is accuratefor thir class. E are having a sport afternoon and a disco evening' but that will be the story for tomorrow. Regards for everone, from Broadstairs. Iñaki Ullan
